Matchsaver air roller covers being deployed at Vincente Calderon stadium, home of Atletico Madrid. The pitch covers are stored on trailers when not in use.
Following the delivery of the Matchsaver Air Roller 8 (AR8) pitch covers to Atletico Madrid at Vincente Calderon stadium the following assessment has been quoted by leading agronomist Miguel Angel Azurmendi in Madrid.
‘The Matchsaver experience has been very positive. The covers have effectively protected areas of the pitch against the cold and provided superb coverage against the rain. For the client it has been extremely important for light (both daylight and lighting rigs) to pass through the material. In addition the ease of handling the covers and the minimal space requirement for storage (on trailers) has increased the satisfaction.’
This delivery is one of the latest that Matchsaver have made to clubs across Europe. More delivery news to follow.
Matchsaver can cover just half a pitch or a penalty box area. The rollers are stored alongside the pitch so are always ready to be used at short notice.
The Swedish football season kicks off in the first week of April and Trelleborg is one of many clubs busy with their pitch preparations. During March temperatures are still freezing and many parts of Scandinavia have seen snow storms in the recent weeks with up to 20cm of snow. Matchsaver Pitch Protection Covers are used to protect the pitch from cold weather and to raise ground temperature to help with grass growth. Trelleborgs Vångavallen arena does not have under soil heating, therefore Matchsaver football pitch covers are a welcomed pitch maintenance tool for the start of a busy season. The Swedish Women’s National Team will open the season on the 6th of April against Canada. Trelleborgs FF’s first home game is scheduled three days later on the 9th of April against Falkenbergs FF.
